London Bound

In March, I got to visit England for the third time and may I say, it was amazing..

 When I'm in England, and especially in London, I feel like I'm home, that that's where I belong.

This time, I visited London with my aunt, uncle and two cousins for four days.  We stayed at a hotel near Notting Hil - the hotel itself wasn't really nice but the location couldn't be better.  We had a real taste of how London is.

 

The weather was absolutely perfect.  It was sunny and the temperatures were surprisingly high for that time of the year.. I guess we were very lucky! 

 

Anyway, instead of talking my way through my time in England, I thought I'd post some of the snaps I took, because one picture is worth a thousand words :)

Life Update - Huge Writer's Block

Hey guys, it's been absolutely ages since I've last written a blog post and I really apologise for that. School and life have been hectic the last couple of months for me.  Being a senior in high school adds up even more pressure on me.

Anyway, onto the good stuff now.. Since I've last updated my blog, I've applied for Universities, got my replies (which were all positive - thanks God) and been to England a month ago.

University wise, I've applied for Law in England, and I've chosen to study at the lovely Reading University.  Given that Reading is only half an hour away from London (which I absolutely adore) is definitely a plus!  

Living in England has always been a dream of mine, and now being able to live it excites me way too much.  I can't wait for September to roll around.  Of course I'll be sad leaving my loved ones behind, but the fact that I'll be living in the land of my dreams makes everything worthwhile. 

On a complete different note, I hope you all had an amazing time in Easter with your beloved ones.  I sure did, as it's a family tradition that on holidays like Easter or Christmas we all meet for lunch and I get to see all my cousins that I don't have the chance to see as often.

Running Late Makeup

I know we all have those days that we're running late for school, work or an appointment that we really have to be on time for, but instead of getting up early and getting ready and leave on time, we hit the snooze button on our phones a billion times before we actually have the strength to get up (I've been there, every single day actually).

Don't get me wrong, but most of the days that I'm running late for school I just roll out of my bed and I walk out of the door as I am, but in the days that I want to look somewhat presentable this is what I use.

So I start off with my foundation, which is my most recent beauty buy and let me tell you, M.A.C. never fails to amaze me. The foundation I'm currently using is the M.A.C. Pro Longwear in the shade NC15 (the lightest shade) and I apply it with the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.  Then I use my Match Perfection Concealer from Rimmel under my eyes, around my nose and in any spots that I don't want them to be showing and blend that in with my fingers or sometimes I like to use the Real Techniques pointed foundation brush.  To set everything in I use the Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel as it is the only powder that really leaves my skin with a matte finish for many hours.

For my eyebrows I like using the Master Shape Eyebrow Pencil from Maybelline. I use the shade Deep Brown as my natural hair colour is nearly black. I really like the fact that it has a spooly brush on one end and on the other end there is the pencil.  I apply it by just outlining the bottom part of my brows first and then filling them in any empty spots and of course using my spooly brush so that everything is nicely blended in and looks 100% natural.

Then I apply a coat of mascara to my top lashes with my Rocket Volume Mascara from Maybelline. I like focusing my mascara to the roots of my lashes as it makes it look like you've applied eyeliner even though you didn't.

Afterwards, I apply my Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder in the shade tanned 52, using my Real Techniques contour brush applying it to the hollows of my cheeks and the temples of my forehead.

I use my Sleek blush in the shade Pixie Pink with the same contour brush I use for bronzer, and although the colour looks really strong and unnatural, when you apply it gently it only looks as if you were out in the cold and your cheeks turned a bit red.

Finally, I use my Gosh lipstick in the shade Darling 134, which is a very nice nude lipstick with not much shimmer in it, perfect for a natural makeup.

I totally use 9 products and 3 brushes for this makeup look - not bad for running late!

My Favourite Body Butters-Lotions

As I was going through my drawers this evening, I came across with a body lotion of mine, that I bought when I was in England last summer; the scent of that particular body really reminds me of my time in England, so I thought that'd be a perfect first beauty post for my blog.

My all time favourite body lotion is the one from Ted Baker called Butterfly Wings. It smells like heaven. It contains bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli, which is the perfect combination; not too sweet and not too fresh.

The other body lotions-butters that I really enjoy using are the ones from Body Shop. Not only do they smell amazing, but they also always leave my skin very soft.  

My favourite scent is the Vanilla Duo one, as it is sweet. The container is split into two, providing two body lotions. The one side is used for normal skin and the other one can be easily applied to dry areas of your skin. I personally use the dry skin lotion on my elbows, that tend to get a bit drier than the rest of my body.

The other scent that I've had for ages and repurchased countless times, is the Raspberry one. It has a fruity scent, but it is not too much. It really leaves my skin hydrated and moisturized throughout the day, which is really good, especially in the cold months.

The last scent that I recently discovered on a shopping spree with a friend was the Moringa one. When I first smelt it, I instantly fell in love. The scent is amazing - it reminds me of how my grandma's garden smells in the spring time when all the flowers are blooming- and it contains Moringa seed oil which is a perfect moisturizer. It is perfect for normal and dry skin, so I would definitely recommend to anyone with that type of skin.

Get To Know Me

Hi guys,

Since it's my first blog post I'm really nervous and I don't really know what to write about.  So I decided that the best way to start my blog was to introduce myself to you.  I'm 17 (18 in 5 months woot woot!), I'm a senior in high school and I live in Cyprus; I'm moving to England this September though and I'll be studying Law.

It was my New Year's resolution to start a proper beauty blog, and that's what I'm doing. I'll be uploading a blog post weekly, reviewing some of the beauty products that I get to try, do a haul, and even ramble on about clothes from time to time. This is my face:

I was also inspired to start my blog from the lovely Lily Pebbles and Anna who made a series in both their YouTube channels and blogs.
